Encompass SDK and EPC Transition Deadlines Extended to December 31, 2026

Mortgage technology is moving fast, and lenders are modernizing just as quickly. But big transitions—like replacing legacy systems with APIs and native Encompass functionality—take time. That’s why ICE Mortgage Technology has announced an extension for two major initiatives: the Encompass SDK transition and the EPC (Encompass Partner Connect) transition.

The new deadline for both is now December 31, 2026.

Why the Extension Matters

Over the past several months, lenders and partners have made great progress moving away from legacy systems and toward modern, API-driven workflows. Many organizations are already live with these updates, experiencing faster integrations and enhanced functionality.

Still, some lenders requested more time to test, validate, and refine their processes—without disrupting business operations. This extension provides just that: a smoother runway for finalizing the transition.

What’s Changed?

Only one thing: the deadline.

  • Previous deadline: Earlier than 2026
  • New deadline: December 31, 2026

All other transition plans and requirements remain the same.

What Is the SDK Transition?

The SDK transition is the process of replacing legacy SDK technology with modern APIs or native Encompass functionality. By December 31, 2026, all SDK-based customizations must be transitioned to ensure compatibility, performance, and ongoing support.

What Is the EPC Transition?

The EPC transition refers to moving from older systems (like EMN, PSDK, TQL, and ePASS) to Encompass Partner Connect (EPC). This includes service ordering for:

  • Appraisal
  • Closing fees
  • Documents
  • Flood and fraud checks
  • Mortgage insurance
  • Pricing
  • Tax service
  • Title
  • Verifications

By the deadline, all these services should be ordered through EPC for consistency, efficiency, and compliance.

Why Lenders Shouldn’t Wait

Even with more time, the message is clear: don’t slow down. Completing these transitions early ensures you can:

  • Take full advantage of modernized workflows
  • Reduce operational risk tied to legacy systems
  • Align your technology with ICE Mortgage Technology’s long-term roadmap

As ICE emphasized, the extension is meant to help organizations refine their processes—not delay modernization.
